expressive elocution for eNl students

Expressive Elocution for ENL Students’ primary educational goal is to increase clarity, confidence and expressive capabilities of the oral presentation skills of non-native English speaking students through a series of Arts-in-Education elocution workshops.
Expressive Elocution gives students the tools to be heard, to be understood and to be confident.
“Ms. May has a unique way of communicating with each individual student and developing an instant rapport and trust. It is because of this relationship that students willingly risk and grow throughout the program. Her support of them, their teachers and other students in the class is unwavering. She is a true professional.” M. Rodahan, Principal, Weber MS
The challenge:
Overcoming fear of speaking in English
Articulating sounds that may not be in their native tongue
Understanding body language of a different culture
Understanding the vocal messaging of a different culture
The results:
Reduced Anxiety
Clearer Articulation
Better Volume
Enhanced Physical and Vocal Awareness
Better Understanding of Vocal Expression
Greater Confidence
Expressive Elocution for ENL Students will address each of the above challenges and more. Through theater games and exercises for both listening skills and vocal production, students creatively explore and articulate sounds, learn how to control their speech, overcome their fears and become as confident expressing themselves in English as in their own native language. All while having fun!
